Wilkin Lai serves as the Managing Broker at LendingInTheD Mortgage Broker. From 2011 to early 2019. he worked as a community development loan officer at First Independence Bank where he leveraged the resources of a local community bank to fill in the Detroit housing gap and provide for many of the mortgage needs of the city of Detroit (see Lending in 'The D' article). With Real Investment Mortgage, he is working to leverage the resources of not only local, but also regional and national lenders and banks to support not only the city of Detroit but also metro Detroit and throughout the state of Michigan. He has experience with all phases of a real estate transaction, from building as a framer, to overseeing a small condo conversion project (658 W Forest) and for the past 10 years as a mortgage loan originator serving the Detroit market. He has closed over $37 million in residential mortgages. In the midst of a real estate transaction, Wilkin works to maintain both a personal and efficient process. He walks with clients through all stages of the loan process and communication is a priority which helps to facilitate closing in a timely manner.
Wilkin is married to Heather and together they have 3 boys Matthias, Caleb and Andrew and their most popular family member is a husky mix named Sage. He carries a frisbee most everywhere he goes, serves as a volunteer mediator and is the director of a newly formed non-profit called Creative Community Service Network. Wilkin grew up in Pittsburgh, got his business training in Illinois and he lives with his family in New Paltz, New York (Please Visit Us, we are near the Big Apple). Wilkin 's family lived in Detroit for over 10 years, and after moving he has continued to work in and for his Detroit hometown.

Casey Mulcahy serves as the Social Media and Processing Assistant at LendingInTheD. While primarily focusing on processing, Casey also contributes to client relations and community building efforts with Real Investment. Casey is a graduate of Wayne State University with a degree in supply chain management. He has lived in Detroit for several years and, along with his partner Lindsay, has recently become a home owner with the help of LendinInTheD. Together they enjoy cycling and gardening. Casey also plays soccer for the Detroit City Futbol League's Cass Corridor team.

Jacqueline has been married for 9 years to her husband Michael. Together they serve at Reborn Ministries a non profit which exists to empower and equip people to thrive in spiritual health, mental health and with the practical life skills to flourish on the westside of Chicago IL.
